In Stow-on-the-Wold we delivered a complete new build of stables and a barn: a single-contractor project covering every element from frame to finished, working equestrian buildings.
The brief
The client needed purpose-built stables and a general-purpose barn on a Cotswolds site, delivered as finished buildings rather than a bare frame for other trades to complete. Steel framed stables have specific demands: ventilation without draughts at horse level, kick-resistant internal linings, and door openings sized and automated for daily use.
What we delivered
Our team handled the full scope:
- Structural steelwork: portal frames for both buildings, fabricated in our Banbury workshop and erected on site
- Exterior cladding: full envelope cladding to walls and roofs, specified for an exposed rural site
- Window installation: natural light into stables and barn workspaces
- Automated doors: powered doors for practical daily operation
The result
Two finished buildings handed over ready for use, with one company accountable for the whole job. This is our design and build approach applied to agricultural and equestrian work. Stow-on-the-Wold sits in the Cotswolds just over the Oxfordshire border, well within our West Oxfordshire service area, and we apply this same integrated approach to agricultural steelwork projects across the region.
